Frederick H. Bohlken, May 25, 1869-May 3, 1925
The funeral of the late Frederick Herman Bohlken, a former resident of Scottish Grove township, was held at his home in Riceton, Sask; on May 6. He died at the Regina General Hospital Sunday morning May 3.
Mr. Bohlken was born at Shortens, Germany, May 25, 1869. He was married to Amelia Theresa Oelrich, December 5, 1893, at Moniticello. There were 12 children born to them, ten of whom are living as follows: Mrs. Otten, Chris Bohlken, G. Bohlken, W. Bohlken, Mrs. J.C. Deagan of Bothwell, WA; Miss Mary Bohlken of Seattle WA; F. John Bohlken, Miss Molly Bohlken, Otto Bohlken, Herman Bohlken and Miss Hannah Bohlken.
Mr. & Mrs. Bohlken and their family removed from Scotch Grove township to the Riceton district in 1908. The family were successful farmers and cultivated an extensive section of land in that community. Mr. Bohlken was secretary and treasurer of a school and acted as trustee for the past ten years. He was a member of the German Lutheran Church at Lang, Sask.
