BARNEY HATKE DEAD
Barney Hatke, aged 70 years, 4 months and 23 days, died Saturday evening about 4:30 in St Anthony Hospital at Effingham. He had been in poor health for the past year, since shortly after they moved to Teutopolis from Effingham where they had made their home for the past few years, after their retirement from their farm in Canada which Mr. Hatke had homesteaded in the early nineties
Mr Hatke was born in Teutopolis on April 12, ? 1910 he, was united in marriage to Miss Anna Wegman in Teutopolis. Since there marriage they resided in Canada until 1929 when they returned to the U. S. and made their ho me in Effingham until the fall| of 1935 when they moved to Teutopolis. Besides his widow, Mr. Hatke is survived by one sister: Mrs. Mary Pundsack of north of Teutopolis and two brothers: Frank of north --of the village and Henry of Keuteryille, Idaho.
Before going to Canada Mr. Hatke spent several years out in Idaho. Funeral services in the form of a Requiem High Mass i were held Tuesday morning beginning at 9 o'clock in St Francis Catholic Church Teutopolis. Rev Ephrem Hecht pastor of the parish, officiated. Interment took place in the parish Cemetery, Mr. Hatke was a faithful member of the St Francis parish.
