Mini Biography
Dietrich Anton Stover was born on October 14, 1831 at Hatten-
Wüsting, Oldenburg, Germany. His parents were Christopher Stover
and Sophia Naver?. Dietrich married Anna Margareta Schwarting
about 1850 in Germany. The following children were born to them in
Germany: Marie Katherine on July 21, 1854, Fred C. on May 6, 1857,
Katherine on April 30, 1860 and Sophia on June 24, 1864. The family
emigrated to the USA in 1870. Dietrich's wife, Anna, died on June
21, 1873 and on February 17, 1879 Dietrich married Gesine
Schumacher Mayer at Hooper, NE. Dietrich and Gesine had 1 child,
Bertha K. born on September 29, 1880. Dietrich had 1 brother,
Heinrich Stover. No other brothers or sisters were located.
Dietrich died on January 19, 1899 and is buried at St. Paul's
cemetery, north of Hooper, NE.
Marie married John Gerhard Meyer, and they had 12 children. Fred
married Mathilde Suhr, and they had no children. Katherine married
John C. Tonjes, and they had 8 children. Sophia married Herman
Daniel Jahde, and they had 10 children. Bertha married George
Bernard Langemeier and they had 10 children.
